I've 'discovered' a WONDERFUL photographer named ShirleyAnn I plan to feature on this page of the site! She has beautiful Bostons, a boatload of photos and a real talent for taking pictures. She says she doesn't know what to do with the photos she takes, so I plan to share them with you for now, and who knows....maybe she'll be 'discovered'!
I have edited the size for the web, and in some incidences cropped, and clarified them a bit. I'm sure you'll agree, they're wonderful!
Here is Suzy and Lily's introduction to ShirleyAnn and her work.
Please allow me to introduce my Mama, ShirleyAnn. My Mama has always loved animals. Her first memories are of rocking little runt pups in a tiny rocking chair, feeding them with a dolly bottle. In her teens my Mama had a Springer Spaniel, Cleo. According to my Mama, Cleo was beautiful, gifted and a genius and quite photogenic. (Can you believe this stuff?) After spending time in front of the camera my Mama decided it was more creative behind the camera and started photography.
In 1998 my Mama adopted her first Boston, Lucille. Poor Lucille had been badly abused. When she first came home she was wild and scared. Mama spent hours rocking her and telling her how special she was and gradually was able to tame Lucille. She never let Mama out of her sight, they were like twins, where one was the other was sure to be. Lucille was beautiful and loved the camera! Whenever Mama would bring it out Lucille would pop into the frame! Lots of our family pictures have little black ears at the bottom of the shot…Lucille. About this time Mama discovered that Lucille loved to dress up and her modeling career was born.
After puppy sitting a pair of Shih Tzu’s who were Lucille’s friends Mama realized Lucille was lonely and adopted me to be Lucille’s companion. We were the best of friends. We played together, slept together and we loved each other. When Lucille died my world caved in. I had never been without canine companionship and now I found myself totally alone. My Mama was shattered; so together we found a little baby puppy and brought her home. This is how I adopted my dogter LilyAnn. I was so glad to have a canine companion again and to be a mother again. I must tell you I am a terribly good mother! LilyAnn & I have taken up the modeling where Lucille left off. We are very good at it and it pays pretty well in cookies!
We have lots of fun playing dress up and our Mama spends lots of time taking our pictures. We hope that you will enjoy our photos as much as we enjoy posing for them!
